EUROPEAN VALORISATION/ VULGARISATION OFFICER (temporary position)
Working environment: FACCE-JPI is managed by an international secretariat partly based in Paris (INRA). The INRA team is comprised of the JPI coordinator and a team of 3 others. This secretariat also includes 5 other partners located in Europe. The INRA team coordinates all the different joint actions but the management of the joint actions is spread amongst the different members of FACCE-JPI. The Valorisation Officer will be located in Paris INRA headquarters. S/He will act under the direct responsibility of the coordinator.

Responsibilities:

The Valorisation Officer will be responsible for following up the portfolio of FACCE-JPI research actions with respect to the dissemination and valorisation of key research results emerging from these actions. Results should be made meaningful and relevant to different types of stakeholders but in particular policy makers and practitioners (e.g. farmers).

 

This encompasses:

  • Implementation of the Strategy  for the dissemination and valorisation of scientific results (available at https://www.faccejpi.com/Document-library/FACCE-JPI-Communication-and-Valorisation-Strategy) to ensure coherence with the FACCE Strategic Research Agenda
  • Organisation of valorisation workshops and other meetings related to FACCE themes
  • Researching, developing and drafting articles, policy briefs, practice briefs, web content, presentations, etc. in association with the relevant researchers;
  • Working with the joint action coordinators as well as the communication team to ensure the visibility and impact of FACCE actions
  • Analysis of relevant policies, foresight, literature… to contribute to FACCE scoping exercises, preparing various written outputs, e.g. annual reports, background papers, inputs to publications and websites related to these actions;

TRAINING AND SKILLS REQUIRED

 

  • Familiarity with FACCE-JPI research themes (agriculture, food security, climate change)
  •  Knowledge of EU policies and policymaking processes related to agriculture and environment
  • Capacity to analyse, synthesise and disseminate  scientific findings related to FACCE-JPI subjects
  • Bilingual English/ French (essential)
  • Outstanding writing and communication skills in English
  • Ability to work with short deadlines  and handle multiple tasks and subjects
  • Good team worker
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, be able to relate to people of different backgrounds and cultures and be diplomatic
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, design tools would be a plus
  • Knowledge on European research projects, especially ERA-NETs would be a plus
